The energy transition is increasing the need for renewable forms of energy, as fossil fuels need to be replaced cost-effectively. The spotlight is now on wind and solar power, which still have plenty of growth potential. In addition, Finland’s transmission system operator Fingrid has received wind and solar power connection enquiries amounting to a total capacity of over 100 megawatts. Fingrid assesses that by 2030, the overall solar power plant capacity in Finland may climb to seven gigawatts.
